Peanut Butter and Jelly Boutique was founded by me, Angela Strausberg in July 2016. I am a mother of 5 amazing kiddos and am married to my best friend Jake. I started this business because I LOVE clothes shopping for my kiddos and more importantly I LOVE finding great deals! So I decided I wanted to share the love, and sale adorable outfits to other mama's out there, at affordable prices!

 

How I got started...

 

As a lot of you already know, there are other places online to buy these same outfits. I used to buy them myself, before I started selling them! But when I was buying them, I always thought to myself, there has to be an easier way to get these outfits! That’s because the other places that sell these do what is called “pre-orders” where you pay up front for an outfit without ever seeing it in person or being able to try it on. Then after a week or so, once they have everyone’s orders and money, they place their order with their supplier and production of the outfits begin, which typically takes 6-8 weeks. So from the time you pay, you’re looking at about two and a half months before you ever see your outfit. Sometimes longer. And if you ask them for a refund for any reason (shipping took too long, outfit doesn’t fit right, etc.), you are given one, but then kicked from the group and can’t order from there again. UGH! What a headache. So as I was complaining to my husband one evening about an order I had placed for our girl’s outfits for family pictures, that were supposed to be delivered over a week prior, but still hadn’t shown up, and he said to me “Surely there are a lot of people that aren’t comfortable with paying up front and waiting 3 months for delivery. I wonder how many sales they’re missing out on doing it that way, instead of keeping items in stock 24/7. You should look into it. Find out who their supplier is and start an online boutique. It would be a hefty up front cost on our end, but if other people love these outfits as much as you do, I’m sure you’ll make our money back in no time.” So I thought about what he had said and after much thought and research I finally decided to do it! So I ordered several of each outfit, in each size so that I would have everything in stock and ready to pick up / delivery. Obviously this was a huge financial risk and a lot of work and sleepless nights, but I believed in the style and quality of these outfits and had Faith they would sell and that my customers would chose me over my competitors because I know what they want! Outfits! NOW!

  

Where I want to go from here...

 

Today, I’m happy to say sales are going great and my customer base is growing steadily! Which is awesome, because with the more customers I get and the more I sale, the more variety and quantity of outfits I'm able to buy and offer to my customers! So thank you to all who help by sharing my page and posts with other mama's! With everyone's support, we will continue to grow and offer even more outfits and be able to do sales more frequently!!! I am now in the process of registering as an LLC with the state of Kansas and obtaining my tax Id number. In the future I’d like to open an actual building to run my boutique out of, so customers can come and shop at their leisure instead of having to make schedules work to meet up. I’m not quite to that point yet, but I’ll get there! For now, I offer several ways to shop with me.
